I am divorcing. I want to start a new business. How can I protect my new assets?

Incorporate in the cayman islands. it costs about $2000 to set up a local board of directors and legally protected account. your name is on the board and you control the company, but the account remains private and the board names are never revealed.

as long as you pay US taxes as required by law, this setup is legal I believe.

Make sure you two are fully separated before you do that to make sure you're assets are fully protected. Also, when you open up a business, make sure you open it as an LLC.

Divorce first before starting your new business.
