What are good techniques for salesmen to get sales?
As a summer job I am going to be a salesman.
To become a good salesman you need to know a lot of things. The answers here may not answer your question 100%.So i suggest you to do some reading to learn more about selling.
This is what TOP salespeople will do:
1)Maintain a positive attitude
2)Learn and practice accepted sales techniques
3)Remain positive although they get rejected
4)Listen to your prospects
5)Know your products
6)Manage your time and priorities
7)Consider yourself as problem solvers for your prospects
8)Be proud of your profession
1. Listen to your client
2. Ask Questions. Find out what is important to hem and why.
3. Match your product/service to what they value
4. If objection, ask questions around that.
5. ASK FOR THE BUSINESS (amazing how many fail to do this)
6. Ask for referrals
If you ask enough questions and know why they would find value with what you are selling there is very little objection over coming needed. Good luck

Be sincere, try to be helpful with your customers, follow up quickly and, despite what is above, don't ask for the sale (pushy; if there is a need they'll buy — they aren't going to buy as a favor to you). You won't necessarily influence the sale as much as position yourself to get the sale if the customer decides to buy.
I'd recommend SPIN selling (book) to learn how to probe, 25 Habits of Successful Sales People (book) for sales 101, salesguy.org and millerheiman.com for their newsletters and information. Good luck.
